What We Do

Founded in April 2020, Interverse Educational Outreach is a 501(c)(3) high school student-run nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking language barriers and connecting people around the world by teaching English as a second language online through two primary components: one-on-one conversations and original educational resources. With our target audience mainly being students from elementary school to the collegiate level, we strive to empower and provide resources for international students to jumpstart their lives and careers in English-speaking countries.

Meet the Board

Interverse is headquartered in Orange County, California.

Audrey Lee is a senior at Northwood High School in Irvine, California. Her main goal is to make educational opportunities more accessible for both international and local students through Interverse. Audrey also hopes to serve as a bridge between Korea and America so that students develop an understanding of both cultures. In her free time, Audrey loves to watch Korean dramas, play percussion, and write her own creative stories.

Audrey Wang is a senior from the Bay Area, California, who is passionate about creating a more interconnected global community. She enjoys language learning, meeting new friends, going to the beach, and creative activities like dance or ceramics. Audrey hopes that students and tutors can form meaningful connections and continously expand their understanding of each others’ cultures, languages, and perspectives.

Helen Xia is a junior from Bothell, Washington, and attends Bothell High School. She strives to strengthen the connections between communities all around the world. By breaking language barriers and sharing different cultures, she hopes to build a welcoming community for everyone. Helen enjoys figure skating, drawing, and building legos

Claire Zhang is a senior from New York who has been tutoring with Interverse for 2 years. She prioritizes efficiency and quality when it comes to learning anything new, which is also reflected in her tutoring and work habits. As CFO, she wishes to help further Interverse’s values of interconnectedness and maintain its free education resources. In her free time, Claire enjoys immersing herself in various podcasts, staying updated on daily news to the latest innovative breakthroughs. She loves to dance and always has a diverse music selection on Spotify constantly playing in the background.

Sydney Chang is a senior in the Bay Area, California. With her passion for design and logistics, she hopes to make language learning fun and accessible to all. Sydney also hopes to promote Interverse’s close community for everyone to join! She loves making new friends, reading webcomics all night long, and drawing.
