Learn how to enjoy refreshing weeks! (UtoImage)

After a long, tiring week of school, the weekend feels all the more refreshing and revitalizing. The weekend is a time in which everyone can take a moment to breathe and relax, not worrying about the stress that persists in the classroom. As time goes on, everyone crafts their own weekend routines to adhere to their own hobbies and interests. Weekends are the perfect time for individuals to express their creativity, away from the limited selection of school subjects and its curriculums

Personally, on weekends, I am able to sleep at least an extra one or two longer than on weekdays. I start every morning off with a hot, steamy cup of coffee. Not only is this bitter taste refreshing, but it is also a great energy boost to begin my day. I like to catch up on the news and read a book in the morning so that I feel updated on current events and on the stories that I find intriguing.

Additionally, I love to watch a couple of episodes of my favorite television shows. Stranger Things is a hot topic at the moment! Afterwards, I usually feast on a hearty meal for lunch, which could be anything from a simple slice of pizza to something as unique as a Mala xiang guo, which is a dish that consists of numbing spice and a variety of stir-fried ingredients like beef or lotus root.

Of course, although weekends are meant to be relaxing, there will always inevitably be some work that you must complete. Therefore, after lunch, I’ll typically work on my school assignments, which include biology, statistics, English, and Chinese homework. This can take anywhere from two to four hours, depending on the complexity of the assignments. Then, after this exhausting, time-consuming work, I will either go to the park to practice basketball for a couple of hours in order to re-energize my body or go to the mall with a few friends to hang out. Afterwards, with a ravenous appetite, I will normally arrive home to a delicious, savory plate of food, consisting of rice, vegetables, chicken, and more! What a perfect way to end my marvelous weekend routine!
